With twelve loan officers, three loan officer assistants and a processor in-house, the Bloomington branch of Ruoff Home Mortgage is definitely on the larger side. But that doesn’t hamper their ability to enjoy each other’s company on a regular basis.

The Bloomington Bunch: a bevy of loan officers and assistants making Hoosier homeownership dreams a reality.

With twelve loan officers, three loan officer assistants and a processor in-house, the Bloomington branch of Ruoff Home Mortgage is definitely on the larger side. But that doesn’t hamper their ability to enjoy each other’s company on a regular basis.

“Each year we have a rivalry with the Lafayette branch (IU vs. Purdue) where we compete for most loans closed and new applications in a month”, shares Justina Grant, one of the branch’s Loan Officer Assistants. “The winning branch gets the Old Oaken Bucket and the manager from the losing branch has to wear the other teams’ colors. Our branch won it this year but lost last year.”

In addition to their fighting school spirit, the team also loves to gather for holiday-themed events. Halloween festivities include a chili cookoff (where everyone is a winner), while Christmas celebrations involve brunch and a Secret Santa gift exchange at the monthly branch meeting.

“We all get along great and have fun during our branch meetings or get-togethers”, adds Justina.

The team doesn’t limit their comradery to office gatherings, however – they’re also very active in their community and beyond, participating in and hosting a variety of events:

  • Last year, several women in the office participated in the Habitat for Humanity Women Build, and this year they plan to start their own team.

  • In October, they hosted a Lunch and Learn for realtors called “Unlocking the Mysteries of Appraisals”, and had Alicia Stewart, a Ruoff Senior Appraisal Underwriter, and Jeff Goldin of Goldin Appraisals give a presentation and answer questions. The event was a huge success with around 80 local referral partners in attendance!

  • They organized a canned food drive the week of December 10, 2018 to benefit the Hoosier Hills Food Bank and ended up with three large boxes of donations.

A strong devotion to customer service is another aspect that binds this team together: TEN of their loan officers can boast a 98%+ Customer Satisfaction rating – with four receiving a perfect 100%! This rare achievement earns them the prestigious High Quality Customer Service Seal:

Clearly, Bloomington is one branch that values interaction: both internally and within their community at large. When asked if they’re open to adding even more team members to their already large Ruoff family, Justina responds in the affirmative.

“We have no immediate plans [to add staff], but we always welcome experienced professionals to join our team”, she confirms.
