Greenwood Team Helps Homebuyers Find Their Place in a Growing Community

Written by Bailey Twillman | October 28, 2026

Just 30 minutes south of downtown Indianapolis, Greenwood, Indiana, offers residents the best of both worlds: the convenience of a growing city and the welcoming atmosphere of a close-knit community.

From established neighborhoods and new developments to local restaurants, shopping, and family-friendly activities, Greenwood has something for everyone. And at the heart of it all: the Ruoff Mortgage Greenwood branch is helping homebuyers find their place in this thriving community.

With approximately $80 million in loan volume and 275 loans closed in 2025, the Greenwood team continues to make an impact by helping a variety of clients achieve their homeownership goals.

The Greenwood branch is made up of experienced mortgage professionals who share a commitment to helping their clients and supporting one another.

The branch includes VP, Branch Manager Donnie Dodson, senior loan officers Mark Willen, Jamie Stephenson, and Cheryl Wooster, along with loan officers Dede Thompson and Angela Richardson. They are supported by loan officer assistant Toni Finnigan, along with administrative assistant Rachel Vicars and Senior Vice President, Area Manager David Foley.

While each team member brings their own experience and expertise, their collaborative approach is what makes the branch stand out.

Jamie said, "Cohesiveness, wanting everyone to succeed and working together," is what makes the branch unique.

Cheryl echoed that sentiment, pointing to the branch's "group of experienced professionals that care about our clients and help each other."

That support extends beyond the workday, creating an environment where employees feel valued and encouraged.

"My coworkers are always there to assist with any questions that I have," said Toni. "Our office atmosphere is fun, supportive and I feel my co-workers really care about me."

Dede also highlighted the team's close relationships and willingness to lend a hand.

"Our team at Greenwood is always supporting each other, in business and life events," Dede said.

One of the things that makes Greenwood special is the variety of housing options available to prospective buyers. Whether someone is searching for their first home, a larger property for a growing family, a home in a 55-plus community, or a rural property with room to spread out, the area offers opportunities for buyers in many different stages of life.

"Greenwood offers a great combination of affordability, convenience, and community," Cheryl said. "You can be close to Indianapolis while still having that feeling of a community where people know each other and take pride in where they live."

The Greenwood branch works with a diverse group of clients, including first-time homebuyers, veterans, working professionals, families, and seniors.

Despite their different backgrounds and homeownership needs, many share a common goal: finding a place where they can put down roots and feel connected to their community.

Jamie described the branch's clients as "kind, professional and motivated," adding that they are typically looking for a home to make their own and a community they can be proud to call home.

Cheryl also emphasized the importance of helping clients make informed decisions throughout the mortgage process.

"I would describe our clients as hardworking people who want to make good financial decisions when it comes to buying a home," she said.

Greenwood has experienced significant growth over the past decade, welcoming new restaurants, shopping destinations, and residential developments while maintaining the community atmosphere that residents appreciate.

For Toni, that combination is part of what makes Greenwood such an attractive place to live.

"Greenwood is growing but it keeps the charm of a smaller city," Toni said.

Its location is another advantage. With convenient access to downtown Indianapolis and Indianapolis International Airport, residents can enjoy the amenities of a major metropolitan area while calling Greenwood home.

The city also offers plenty of opportunities to explore, from its downtown restaurants and shops to seasonal festivals and family-friendly events.

"I would describe Greenwood as a growing, family-friendly community with a great balance between convenience and a small-town feel," Cheryl said.

The Greenwood team has no shortage of recommendations for anyone looking to experience the area.

Jamie enjoys local favorites like Oaken Barrel and House of Tokyo, along with Mallow Run Winery. Toni also recommends Oaken Barrel, as well as Verde and Cheddar's, and points to the area's many shopping options, including Kirkland's, HomeGoods, Marshalls, and Ross.

Dede enjoys spending time with her grandchildren in Greenwood and visiting local shops such as Brianne's Boutique, T.J. Maxx, and HomeGoods.

Together, these local favorites reflect the variety of dining, shopping, and entertainment options that make Greenwood a great place to live.

For the Greenwood branch, being part of the community means more than helping residents finance homes. The team also supports local organizations, participates in events, and builds relationships throughout the area.

The branch has been involved in sponsorships supporting Greenwood Parks and Recreation and Freedom Springs Aquatic Park, helping support the recreational opportunities that bring local families together.

The team has also participated in Ruoff’s annual kickball tournament at Victory Field benefiting Second Helpings, an Indianapolis nonprofit focused on addressing hunger and food waste.

Additional community involvement includes supporting the Beech Grove concert series and attending Indianapolis Indians baseball games and Indy Fuel hockey games with community and referral partners.

These activities give the Greenwood team opportunities to connect with the people and organizations that make the area special while strengthening relationships beyond the mortgage process.

As Greenwood continues to grow, the Ruoff Mortgage team remains committed to providing knowledgeable guidance, personalized service, and supportive experiences for homebuyers.

Whether helping someone purchase their first home, move into a larger space, or take the next step in their homeownership journey, the Greenwood branch is ready to help clients navigate the process with confidence.

With a strong team, deep community connections, and a shared passion for helping others, Ruoff Mortgage's Greenwood branch is proud to help more people find a place to call home.
